October Newsletter

Dear Parents:

Happy Fall! We're having a great year so far, and zipping right along with our alphabet. Now that we are done with A, B, and C here is what your child can look forward to this month:

1. D= Dinosaurs. This unit is going to be a blast. We are going to read about, recognize, and learn some names of various dinosaurs. Snack will be Donuts.

2. E= Everyone is Different - Don't forget to have your child bring in a family picture on or before October 11th (preferably a 5x7 size!) We are going to discuss how everyone is unique, comes from different families, and has different feelings. Snack will be Eggs.

3. F= Farms. We will be learning about how farmers work with fruit, vegetables, and animals! We are taking our next field trip on the 17th of this month - that coincides with this unit. Snack will be Fruit Snacks.

4. G= Ghosts and Goblins (Our Halloween Unit). On the 27th the children can wear their costumes over their clothes! What they take off will just come home in their buckets. This week will be filled with lots of Halloween stuff including "Trick or Treating" around our neighborhood. Snack will be Grapes (eyeballs).

Firefly book orders due on Thursday, October 4th!

Thanks for your support and trust. I am really enjoying your little ones so much. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns; I am always open to helpful suggestions. Enjoy October!

***If your little one does not seem interested in the letter sounds, don't worry - they will bloom in their own time!

Reminder Firefly book orders are due September 8th!
Sharing time will also begin on the first day of school. Please see the list on the right hand side to find out what day of the week your child gets to bring something special. Please help your child pick out ONE item and discuss with them what they would like to say about it.
Thanks to everyone who made it out for the open houses. Please e-mail or call me with any questions!
See everyone at school,

A New School Year!

Hello All:
It is time to start up the preschool blog again! I can not believe the school year is almost here. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are ready to get back in the grove of things. We have some new and exciting things coming up this year, but the most exciting is our new teacher: Ms Becky! She will be here on Tuesday and Thursdays from 10:30 to 12:00 when we have all the children are here as well as full-time when I go on maternity leave. Becky has many years of preschool/childcare experience, and are excited to have her on board!
Other than that, we hope to see everyone at the Open House tonight. We will be there to answer all your questions and to help your child feel ready for his/her first day! Please check the website regularly for a list of upcoming events. See everyone soon!
